Rachel and Andrew at Norwood Park
I first met Rachel and Andrew at The National Wedding show at NEC Birmingham and remember being a tad excited that they were from Nottingham (realised after couple of days at the show that this would be rare given the location). They tasted the samples, noseyed at my work and had we had a general chinwag about their plans. I then visited them at their home to discuss their requirements. I took along full selection of flavours for them to taste and my pencil and paper to design their dream cake. After few minutes I realised Rachel was a lady who knew exactly what she wanted. During the consultation Rachel showed me a few of the things she was making herself for the big day, from teeny typewriters to use a place cards, mini pots of jam as favours to her oh so breath taking Ian Stuart gown-every detail was going to be perfect (no pressure then!).
I was very excited when Rachel explained what she imagined, showing me an image of course to make sure I got it just so. After deciding sizes to feed her guests and plying her and Andrew with the cake, I was very much looking forward to creating the 2 tier, ruffled beauty. The edges of the ruffles to be hand painted with a taupe metallic paint to co ordinate with the rest of Rachel’s pretties. Fresh flowers by Sophie’s Flower Co along with vintage bird bride and grooms were being supplied to top it all off too.
The venue is very much a favourite and fast becoming a regular haunt for me too. Norwood Park is not only stunningly beautiful, with history and amazing views, the team are friendly and very professional. Nothing is too much trouble.
If you are thinking of using Norwood Park as your venue or another Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire venue then get in touch so we can discuss you needs further. I hope you enjoyed the few images I have here. They were captured by the very talented Kathryn Edwards. Have a nosey through her work, I am sure you will love it all as much as I do (we have been lucky enough to have worked on a couple of the same weddings now – our couples have taste obviously).

As a repeat customer I knew Natalie was the person to create a very special cake for our daughter's first birthday. I roughly described what I would like and as if by magic the perfect cake appeared! It was just what I had imagined, perfect colours and an amazing, quality finish. On top of all that, it tasted awesome too! I can't recommend Yummy Little Cakes highly enough and I will be back (again)! Thanks Natalie! x
